This Jedi battle is watercolor painting that started out as mere exercise for my illustration class a year ago (early spring 2009). I liked the start of it so much that I cut out this awkwardly tall canvas (to avoid the other exercises that I still had to turn in for a grade) and went full out painting.
It was the first watercolor I ever did on illustration board in a more illustrative style.

I know it is a little weak, but I had fun with it.

I really like the background in the top part--nice painting there, and good lighting. It's only the anatomy of the foreground guy that seems off. You seem really good at making backgrounds seem old.

Yeah, I think I've improved somewhat on the anatomy aspect of art, but my teacher said the same. He even suggested cutting off the bottom part completely. I'm glad i didn't, it was a good learning experience if nothing else!
